Dog Safety Tips 4th of July Part 1

KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE

CHIPPED AND REGISTERED

Loud noises cause pets to bolt. Make sure if this happens you can get your pet home to you safe and sound.

Mandatory microchipping in Dallas has been in effect since 2017, BUT if you have moved, changed phone numbers or the pet was rehomed was the chip information updated? Or when you adopted your pet did you remember to update the information?

Another thing that happens--- the chips can "float" or relocate in the pet's body, making it very difficult, sometimes impossible to find/scan.  I recommend having your pet scanned by your vet before July 4th festivities to make sure your dog's chip is able to be located. Additionally, your pet should wear her collar and tags.

Dog safety during 4th of July events takes some planning, especially if you have anxious dogs, and noise sensitive dogs. Look for my next post when I talk about survival tips for dog anxiety. Til then! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›
