Does Distance Reiki Work?

Distance Reiki absolutely works! My experience with dogs over the years is distance Reiki often works better than in-person treatment.

Times When Distance Reiki Is a Great Option:

  • Is your dog anxious, reactive, aggressive?

  • Is your dog elderly and prefers not to interact with strangers, but needs some relief from arthritis pain, or elderly mental confusion?

  • Are you nowhere near a dog massage therapist, but want to get your dog some physical relief from a sporting weekend?

  • Does your dog get stressed going to the vet or groomer?

  • Do you have a foster dog who is having difficulty adjusting to your home?

  • Do you have a rescue animal who has symptoms of abuse and trauma?

  • Is your pet noise reactive— the grandkids are coming this weekend, or it's going to storm tonight.

  • Do you have a dying pet and you want to help him relax and have a peaceful, loving transition?

Now that you've seen some examples of who Distance Reiki can help. Let's talk about what Reiki is.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is energy healing, where “universal energy” is channeled through the practitioner's hands to the patient to promote emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical healing.

So, what does that look like for an animal? For me, I ask for a picture with good eye contact, the name of the pet. I then connect with the pet. I will feel the pet's energy. I will see the animal in my mind's eye and move my hands over them, noting the different sensations , treating areas that need treatment, working on the chakras, and communicating with the animal. It usually takes about 20 minutes. The person may see the pet stir and re- situate if it was sleeping, or yawn, stretch or sigh— all positive signs of energy release.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER DISTANCE REIKI?

After your dog's distance Reiki session, he will most likely be drowsy and fall right to sleep. Do make certain your pet has plenty of fresh water to flush toxins out of his system. Some dogs get a burst of energy/zoomies because their pain is lessened. Some have increased appetite so don’t be surprised if he begs for an extra treat.
